File Format

The files that you download from are MP3 audio files.

MP3 is a standard audio format, capable of being played in a wide variety of devices, including portable media players, smart phones, tablets, e-books, desktop and laptop PC's, and home and car digital audio players.

To facilitate downloading, the MP3 files for each title have been "zipped" up into a Zip archive file. With many media players you can just copy this zip file to the player using a flash drive, SD card, USB cable, etc. But for other devices, you will need to unzip or "expand" the zip archive file and copy the MP3 files inside it to your device. Software for unzipping zip files is readily available for free. More recent versions of Microsoft Windows have the ability to "expand" zip files built right in.

MP3 files can also be burned onto an "MP3 CD". This is a CD format which can be played on computers which have CD/DVD drives and many CD/DVD players. If you have a program for burning CD's, it is probably capable of creating an MP3 CD. You will probably need to unzip/expand the zip file in order to do this. Each LessacAudioBooks download file is sized to fit easily on a single MP3 640 megabyte CD disk. In most cases, it should be possible to get two of your LessacAudioBooks purchases onto one disk. Maybe even three, if they are all short.

Note that so-called music or audio CD's, such as you might have purchased in a record store, are a different format from MP3 CD's. Many CD players, older ones particularly, can play only audio CD's and do not support MP3 CD format. It is possible to convert LessacAudioBooks MP3 files into audio CD's, but it takes more disks. The process is easy though a bit tedious. One program that can do this is Apple ITunes for Windows.

After you checkout and pay on PayPal using your credit card or PayPal account, you will be directed back to a "Download Page" on This will show you a set of download links, one for each book you have just purchased. At this point, you can download your purchases, one at a time. Click on each download link. Depending on the speed of your connection, it will take between 20 and 40 minutes to download each file.

At the time of purchase, we also send an email with all the links to the email address you use for your PayPal account. If you do not have a PayPal account, and pay with a credit card, you will be asked for an email address during the checkout process, and we will mail the links to that address. If the email address is wrong, you might have a bit of hassle to get your purchases, so please make sure it is correct.

You can use these emailed links at any time to download your files. They will be the same as the links we show on our Download page after purchase. We suggest that you keep those emails for your records. But if you lose the email message (or there was a problem sending it to you), you can recover the download links by going to our Download Recovery page. You will be asked to enter the email you used when you originally checked out. . We will then re-mail all the download links ever sent to that email address.

If your email address has changed, or you have forgotten the email you originally used, you will need to contact us, so that we can restore your access to your purchased links. Be prepared to give us enough information to let us identify you and verify what you have purchased from us. We might ask you detailed questions about what you purchased, and when.

Each download link is tied to you, and we will keep track of how many times you download each file. We do this in order to stop people from sharing their download links. We are liberal about allowing you to lend out the books to one person at a time, but if you post the links on the Internet or email them en masse to friends, and lots of people start using those links to download the books without paying, we will shut the links down pretty fast.

So long as you use the links only for your personal downloads, which is what they are intended for, you shouldn't have any problems. It is possible that you might have difficulties downloading and make so many attempts to download a file that it looks like you have lost control of your download link, causing us to shut off the link. If this happens, just contact us, tell us your story, and we'll fix it. We're friendly; we don't bite.

If you find a problem like that, please let us know. We will fix it, and put a corrected version of the book on the site for you and others to download. Besides using the Contact Us Page to let us know about problems, you could write a review of the book and mention the problems.

We would also especially like to have your suggestions for books to add to our catalog.
